HCM CITY – CapitaLand Development, a subsidiary of CapitaLand Group, has contributed more than VND1.3 billion ($82,000) to establish a nutrition programme to support the physical development of some 1,400 students across four CapitaLand Hope Primary Schools and Kindergartens in Việt Nam.

The students receive free milk from October 2022 until the end of the school year in May next year.

A total of 223,000 packs of milk will be distributed to the students.

They will also undergo a health check to monitor their physical development at the end of the programme.

CLD is partnering with International Dairy Products JSC (IDP), one of Việt Nam's fastest growing home-grown dairy products firms, to obtain the milk.

Last month over 50 employees who are volunteering for the programme visited the four schools and kindergartens to distribute the milk in addition to healthy snacks to the students.

CLD also marked the installation of new sanitation facilities at five primary and secondary schools in Bắc Giang Province.

It contributed more than VND1.5 billion ($96,000) to build proper toilets, urinals and handwashing stations to provide a healthy learning environment for 1,600 students.

CLD partnered with TOTO Ltd., one of the largest sanitary companies in Asia, to install the improved sanitation facilities at the Vân Sơn Primary School, Thanh Luận Primary and Secondary School, Đại Sơn Primary and Secondary School in Sơn Động District and Cẩm Lý Secondary School, Lục Sơn Primary and Secondary School in Lục Nam District.

“We believe education is an important foundation for building a resilient society and we look forward to working with more like-minded partners to amplify our efforts to support the educational and developmental needs of vulnerable children in Việt Nam.”
