HCM CITY – The looting of goods from trucks that have tipped over and spilled their goods onto the roads has become far too common in Việtt Nam.

But the actions of passers-by on Highway 1A in Bình Tân District of HCM City have shown there is still some good left on our roads.

Late last week, a truck flipped on the highway releasing more than 2 tonnes of fish onto the road, reported Thanh Niên (Young People) newspaper.

After the incident, traffic police and passersby helped the truck driver collect the fish.

Giáp Văn Quá, a passer-by, said that “It was about 7pm. I had dinner with friends nearby. Suddenly I heard a big noise.

“I ran out of the restaurant to check and saw the road full of fish,” Quá said.

Quá and other passers-by helped the driver to move the fish to the pavement to stop vehicles from crushing them, he said.

After three hours, the fish were all collected, giving hope to netizens used to seeing theft after such accidents. VNS
