HÀ NỘI — The Quảng Ngãi Sea and Island Culture Week will be held on the South Central Coast of the Quảng Ngãi Province and other coastal districts at the end of August.

The event, organised by the Quảng Ngãi People’s Committee, will include relevant outdoor activities such as a seminar titled ‘The Cultural Legacy of Quảng Ngãi’s Seas and Islands,’ release of books on seas and islands including the Bé island, and ranking of the Giếng Tiền and Thới Lới mountains among the top beautiful spots in the country by the government.

The opening ceremony scheduled to be held in Quảng Ngãi City, will highlight the Culture Week. The event will also include the inauguration of a photo exhibition, Homeland Seas and Islands, as well as many other activities.

It is aimed at promoting the significance of seas and islands for the socio-economic development of the country, stressing the sovereignty of seas and islands in the country, enhancing the awareness of the young generation on protecting and defending the water bodies, improving preservation, and promoting the image of the people of Quảng Ngãi to international and domestic visitors. — VNS
