LÂM ĐỒNG — Many streets in the resort city of Đà Lạt have turned extra colourful since late March after violet flamboyant flowers have started blooming.
The flower, which blooms soon after wild sunflower, has a vivid colour that awakens one’s senses in a happy and soothing manner.
On windy days, violet flamboyant trees rain flower their petals down on the roads below.
Flamboyant trees, originally from Latin America, have been planted around the city making it go violet in early summer every year since the 1960s and have become a veritable symbol of Đà Lạt. — VNS
