The central province of Quảng Bình is offering boat tours to craft villages along local rivers in an attempt to add tourism options in an area known for caving tours to famous karst grottoes.

The Red River that dissects Hà Nội takes its name from the colour of the silt that tints the water. But unbeknown to many living in the capital city, the Red River is a place many people call home.

During wet, cold weather, bathing is a rare treat for Trần Quang, a boat resident in central Thừa Thiên- Huế Province. Quang, 35, is one of more than 100 boat people living on a floating village in Thủy Phú Commune despite the tough, inconvenient life.
