The head of the Central Citizen Board of the Government Inspectorate yesterday met with representatives of residents to settle a contentious land dispute in the Thủ Thiêm new urban area in HCM City’s District 2.

While housing developers in HCM City are looking for occupants for over 15,000 apartments they have built, city authorities are saying more such apartments are needed to resettle people moved out of their houses for various reasons.
Foreign and domestic investment in HCM City has significantly increased and industrial production remains robust, a meeting to review the city’s socio-economic development in the first 10 months of this year heard.
The HCM City is planning to extend the Metro Line No 2 Bến Thành – Tham Lương to 9.3 km.
