About 500 enterprises in HCM City have been trained to use the 24/7 e-tax payment scheme by the city’s Customs Department.

Total import-export tax revenue collected through e-payments reached VNĐ191.15 trillion (US$9.2 billion), accounting for 95 per cent of the total revenue to the State budget, from January 1, 2018 to September 5, 2018.

The Bank for Investment and Development of Việt Nam (BIDV) will be one of the first commercial banks in Việt Nam to co-operate with the General Department of Customs to provide 24 hour e-tax payment service.

Five commercial banks have been selected to pilot a 24/7 e-tax payment scheme from November this year.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) and Finance Ministry (MoF) have set up action plans to improve the business environment and the national competitive ability for the future.

Deputy Prime Minister Vũ Đức Đam has said there is a need for all ministries and relevant agencies to co-ordinate and connect with specific policies to promote electronic payments.
