The United States and ASEAN countries’ leaders have met for the US-ASEAN Special Summit in Washington on May 12-13. Following is the full text of the statement:

Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính held a reception for US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan in Washington DC on May 13 (US time), as part of his working visit to the US and the United Nations.

Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio’s recent visit to Việt Nam has brought the bilateral extensive strategic partnership to a new period which is more pragmatic and effective, Vietnamese Ambassador Vũ Hồng Nam has noted.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Bùi Thanh Sơn on Wednesday met his Canadian counterpart Mélanie Joly in Hà Nội during her official visit to Việt Nam.

Việt Nam wishes to work together with the US – one of its leading important partners – to deepen the bilateral comprehensive partnership on the basis of respecting each other’s independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, political institutions and differences, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính said on Wednesday.
