HÀ NỘI — Lagardere Sports has signed a deal to transfer the broadcasting rights for the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 to Next Media, according to the Việt Nam Football Federation (VFF).

Under the contract, Next Media will be the exclusive broadcaster and distributor for the whole pay-TV system nationwide through satellite, cable, radio, internet and mobile broadcasting across Việt Nam.

Along with the Việt Nam Television (VTV), which holds the exclusive free-to-air rights for the tournament, Next Media will be the only broadcaster bringing the AFF Suzuki Cup closer to Vietnamese football fans via a variety of platforms.

Viewers will be able to access the tournament in an easy and rapid manner through their devices.

Next Media has also purchased the public screening rights, which means any outlets wishing to screen the tournament in public places must apply for a permit.

The AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 will take place from November 8 to December 15 and feature 26 matches.

Việt Nam have been drawn in Group A with Malaysia, Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos.

This is the last tournament the Vietnamese national team will be competing in this year, and a good chance for the team and coach Park Hang-seo to bring home a trophy. — VNS
