Wushu artist Giang wins bronze medal at ASIAD

Vietnamese female wushu artist Hoàng Thị Phương Giang brought home one more bronze medal at the Asian Games (ASIAD) 2018 in Indonesia this morning.

HÀ NỘI — Vietnamese female wushu artist Hoàng Thị Phương Giang brought home one more bronze medal at the Asian Games (ASIAD) 2018 in Indonesia Wednesday morning.

Hanoian Giang earned 9.71 points to win the bronze medal in the women’s changquan category. Xinyi Qi of China took gold with 9.74 points, while Yi Li of Chinese Macau earned silver with 9.72 points.

Born in 1992, Giang began training in wushu in 2004. She has won more than 40 titles at domestic and international events including silver medals in the Asian and world championships in 2012 and 2013.

With Phương’s win, Việt Nam’s medal tally rises to eight so far.

Earlier, Việt Nam won three silver medals thanks to weightlifters Thạch Kim Tuấn, Trịnh Văn Vinh and wushu artist Phạm Quốc Khánh as well as four bronzes thanks to Dương Thúy Vi (wushu), Nguyễn Huy Hoàng (swimming), mixed double Trần Quốc Cường and Lê Thị Linh Chi (shooting) and the taekwondo male team. — VNS
