HÀ NỘI — The Việt Nam Table Tennis Federation has received sponsorship of VNĐ10 billion (US$448,000) for their activities from 2018-22.

The federation and partner Modern Fare Vietnam Trading and Investment Joint Stock Company (MOFICO) expressed hope that the sponsorship would help to improve the tournament’s organising activities and discover and train more talent for Việt Nam in the near future.

MOFICO also pledged to provide training facilities such as balls, tables and competition maps for the federation’s annual championships.

In their schedule this year, the national men’s team will take part in the World Team Championship in Sweden later this month. The National Table Tennis Championship will be held from May 22-27 in Đà Lạt.

The national teams will take part in a training camp in Hungary in late May. Two months later the junior team will compete at the Southeast Asian Championship in the Philippines. In August, the senior teams will participate in the regional tournament in Indonesia.

Table tennis is one of key sports at the National Sport Games this year as well as at the Asian Games in August in Indonesia. — VNS
