HÀ NỘI — Hải Dương triumphed at the Double Fish table tennis tournament which concluded at Hồ Xuân Hương Gymnasium in HCM City on November 5.
The team defeated An Thuận Phát 3-0 in the final to take the title in the mixed gender team event.
Hải Dương’s stable includes top players like Đoàn Bá Tuấn Anh and Nguyễn Đức Tuân, who won gold medal in the men’s team at the Southeast Asian Games in Malaysia in August. An Thuận Phát also have stars such as Nguyễn Anh Tú, Lê Tiến Đạt and Nguyễn Thị Nga.
For winning, Hải Dương walked away with prize money of VNĐ30 million (US$1,300).
The amatuer event, which attracted nearly 50 players from eight teams, aimed to develop table tennis in the country and in HCM City.
It was organised by Việt Nam Modern Fare Joint Stock Company and the Việt Nam Table Tennis Federation. – VNS
