HÀ NỘI — Trần Quyết Chiến advanced to the men’s carom 3-cushion quarter-finals at the World Games in Wroclaw, Poland.

Chiến defeated Colombian Catano Huberney 40-18 after 19 innings on Wednesday.

Today, the World Cup silver medalist will face Sameh Sidhom of Egypt, who won 40-25 over Erick Tellez of Costa Rica.

Chiến is one of six Vietnamese athletes at the World Games, which is the biggest event for sports that are not included in Olympics.

Earlier, Nguyễn Thành Lộc finished seventh out of eight athletes in the men’s 100m surface finswimming event.

Today, Đào Lê Thu Trang and Đào Thị Như Quỳnh will participate in the women’s duo jujitsu. Võ Văn Đài and Bùi Yến Ly will compete in the Muay Thai events on Sunday. — VNS
