HÀ NỘI — Park Chan Hyeok of South Korea won the 31st Golden Racket international table tennis tournament, which wrapped up at Nguyễn Du Gymnasium in HCM City on Tuesday.

On the women’s side, Paranang Orawan of Thailand triumphed after crushing Liu Ying of Petrosetco HCM City Club 4-1 in the final match.
In the women’s team category, Thailand beat Japan 3-1 to bag the title.
South Korea A team, meanwhile, won the men’s team title, beating South Korea B 3-2 in the final.
The four-day event -- an International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) tournament -- was co-hosted by the municipal Department of Culture and Sports and the city’s Table Tennis Federation.
It attracted nearly 100 players from six countries and territories, namely Japan, South Korea, India and Hong Kong, as well as Chinese Taipei and Việt Nam.
The event also served as a warm-up for the Vietnamese team ahead of the upcoming Southeast Asian Games to be held in Malaysia next month. — VNS
