Central city supports Gia Lai in fight against COVID-19

ĐÀ NẴNG — A team of eight doctors and medical workers from Da Nang City was sent to the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai to help fight the COVID-19 pandemic on Friday.

Director of the city’s health department Ngô Thị Kim Yến said the team will join the provincial medical forces in testing and tracking close COVID-19 patient contacts in the community as well as providing medical examinations and warnings about the virus.

Gia Lai Province has treated and isolated 19 people who tested positive for the coronavirus.  

Other doctors and medical staffs from HCM City and the Central Highlands general hospital have been sent to help the province in dealing with the COVID-19.

In two waves of COVID-19 in Đà Nẵng in April and July, more than 300 doctors from Hà Nội, HCM City, Thừa Thiên-Huế, Bình Định, Nghệ An, Hải Phòng and Phú Thọ were called up to support Đà Nẵng.

The city also asked all residents coming back from the outbreak locals should come to medical centres and hospitals to help with testing. — VNS
