QUẢNG NINH — The fire in TexhongYinlong Technology Limited’s Factory No. 4 in the northen province of Quảng Ninh will be extinguished by the end of Thursday, according to local authorities, Vietnam News Agency reported.
The fire started at the factory’s fibre warehouse at 2am on Wednesday. The warehouse contained some 5,000 tonnes of material and commodities.
Twenty-six fire engines and over 800 people have been mobilised to put out the fire. China’s Guangxi Province has also sent fire engines to help extinguish the fire. However, they failed to prevent the fire from spreading.
As of 8am on Thursday, the fire was brought under control, but firefighters continued to spray water to extinguish it completely.
No fatalities were reported, but all property in the warehouse was completely destroyed.
Texhong Yinglong Technology Limited, a subsidiary of Hong Kong’s Texthong Textile Group, was established in April 2012 with a total investment of US$300 million. It covers 53ha in the Hải Yến Industrial Park in Quảng Ninh’s Móng Cái City and employs 5,000 local workers.
Investigation into the cause of the fire is underway. — VNS
