HÀ NỘI — Vietnamese students won two gold medals and one silver and bronze at the 28th International Olympiad in Informatics in Russia.
This announcement was made by the Department of Educational Testing and Accreditation under the Ministry of Education and Training.
Gold medal winners Phan Đức Nhật Minh, a 12th grader, and Phạm Cao Nguyên, an 11th grader, are both from the high school for gifted students at the University for Natural Science under the Hà Nội National University.
Trần Tấn Phát, a 12th grader from the high school for gifted students at HCM City National University, won the silver medal.
Lê Quang Tuấn, an 11th grader from the high school for gifted students at the Hà Nội University of Education, grabbed the bronze medal.
The 28th International Olympiad in Informatics was held in Russia, with the participation of 308 students from 81 countries and territories. A total of 154 students won medals at the competition, including 26 golds and 51 silvers.
Viêt Nam is one among five countries that won two gold medals, putting it in seventh place. — VNS
