ĐỒNG NAI – The Ministry of Transport is building the 8km Tân Vạn - Nhơn Trạch section of HCM City's Ring Road No. 3 project, which will connect the provinces of Đồng Nai, Long An, Bình Dương with HCM City.

Construction of the section began on September 24. The two ends of the section will intersect with Provincial Road No. 25B in Đồng Nai's Nhơn Trạch District and the HCM City - Long Thành - Dầu Giây expressway in HCM City's Thủ Đức City.

The Tân Vạn - Nhơn Trạch section consists of a 1.92km segment in HCM City, and a 6.3km segment spanning across Đồng Nai.

The Ministry of Transport is the investor of the project.

Total investment is VNĐ6.9 trillion (US$29 billion) from ODA loans from the Korean Government via the Korea Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF), as well as the Vietnamese Government.

Deputy chairman of Đồng Nai People's Committee Võ Tấn Đức said that the project would help ease traffic congestion.

According to the deputy minister of transport Lê Anh Tuấn, the southeast region is one of the most important economic centres in Việt Nam. It is also the largest industrial centre, seaport and logistics centre of the country.

However, the transport infrastructure system of the Southeast region is facing overcrowding and a lack of synchronous connectivity.

The completed project will help improve transportation connections between the cities and provinces in the southeast.

The project will be completed in September 2025. – VNS
