Record 55,879 COVID-19 cases registered in Việt Nam on Tuesday

A record total of 55,879 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Việt Nam on Tuesday, taking the total number of infections to 2,890,252.

HÀ NỘI — A record total of 55,879 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Việt Nam on Tuesday, taking the total number of infections to 2,890,252.

Of the new cases, eight were imported and quarantined upon arrival.

A further 77 COVID-related fatalities were reported. 

Of the new daily transmissions, 39,728 were in the community.

The capital city of Hà Nội again registered the highest daily number of infections with 6,860, a record for the city.

Other localities with four-digit case numbers were Bắc Ninh (2,842), Bắc Giang (2,500), Hải Dương (2,485), Quảng Ninh (2,087), Hòa Bình (2,087), Phú Thọ (2,084), Lào Cai (2,056), Nam Định (1,943), Vĩnh Phúc (1,811), Hải Phòng (1,798), Ninh Bình (1,665), Thái Nguyên (1,645), Sơn La (1,494), Nghệ An (1,441), HCM City (1,352), Hưng Yên (1,312), Yên Bái (1,290), Thái Bình (1,282) and Khánh Hòa (1,213).

The other infections were found in Thanh Hóa (995), Đắk Lắk (989), Quảng Nam (976), Đà Nẵng (946), Tuyên Quang (845), Bình Định (835), Lạng Sơn (765), Hà Tĩnh (690), Cao Bằng (649), Lâm Đồng (630), Quảng Bình (567), Điện Biên (499), Quảng Trị (494), Gia Lai (461), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (441), Bình Phước (429), Lai Châu (388), Hà Nam (380), Cà Mau (351), Phú Yên (316), Thừa Thiên Huế (237), Bắc Kạn (233), Đắk Nông (232), Hà Giang (181), Kon Tum (157), Bình Thuận (155), Quảng Ngãi (135), Bình Dương (132), Tây Ninh (113), Bến Tre (64), Bạc Liêu (50), Đồng Tháp (47), Cần Thơ (46), Vĩnh Long (40), Đồng Nai (37), Trà Vinh (37), Long An (27), Kiên Giang (17), Ninh Thuận (14), An Giang (9), Sóc Trăng (9) and Hậu Giang (6).

A further 10,412 recoveries were reported on Tuesday, taking the total number of patients given the all-clear to 2,305,081.

There are currently 3,434  patients in a serious condition in hospital, including 13 on life support.
