HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam reported 29,413 new COVID-19 infections on Monday, a record daily high.

The average number of daily COVID-19 cases over the past seven days stands at 25,918.

The new cases bring the tally across the country to 2,540,273, with 39,037 deaths and 2,232,947 recoveries.

Out of the new transmissions, 20,924 were community cases.

The capital Hà Nội also registered a record daily high of 3,507 infections and was again the locality with the most cases, followed by Hải Dương (1,915), Hải Phòng (1,489) and Nghệ An (1,385).

The remaining transmissions were found in Lạng Sơn (1,379), Nam Định (1,362), Thái Nguyên (1,275), Phú Thọ (1,053), Vĩnh Phúc (982), Ninh Bình (970), Bắc Ninh (922), Hòa Bình (897), Quảng Ninh (892), Đà Nẵng (787), Thanh Hóa (776), Bắc Giang (664), Quảng Nam (587), Gia Lai (579), Thái Bình (540), Hưng Yên (539), Bình Phước (469), Bình Định (437), Lào Cai (429), Sơn La (428), Quảng Bình (406), Yên Bái (347), Đắk Nông (309), Lâm Đồng (307), Quảng Trị (302), Phú Yên (288), Hồ Chí Minh City (285), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (282), Đắk Lắk (235), Khánh Hòa (209), Hà Nam (201), Thừa Thiê- Huế (200), Quảng Ngãi (165), Hà Tĩnh (159), Kon Tum (155), Cao Bằng (153), Cà Mau (145), Tuyên Quang (136), Lai Châu (118), Điện Biên (117), Hà Giang (100), Bắc Kạn (81), Bình Thuận (76), Bình Dương (63), Kiên Giang (50), Vĩnh Long (35), Đồng Nai (31), Bến Tre (29), Bạc Liêu (24), Trà Vinh (23), Tây Ninh (21), Đồng Tháp (18), Cần Thơ (14), Sóc Trăng (12), Ninh Thuận (12), Long An (10), Hậu Giang (9), Tiền Giang (7) and An Giang (6).

198 Omicron cases have been found so far, in HCM City (97), Quảng Nam (27), Quảng Ninh (20), Hà Nội (14), Khánh Hòa (11), Đà Nẵng (8 ), Hưng Yên (6), Kiên Giang (4), Thanh Hóa (2), Hải Dương (2), Hải Phòng (1), Long An (1), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (1), Bình Dương (2), Lâm Đồng (1) and Ninh Bình (1).

A total of 91 COVID-related deaths were registered, taking the number of overall fatalities to 39,037, accounting for 1.6 per cent of total infections.

There were a further 6,193 were recoveries reported, bringing the total number of people recovered to 2,232,947.

A total of 2,610 patients are being treated in intensive care units, up 30 from yesterday, with 15 on life support.

More than 186 million vaccine doses have been administered in the country to date, with more than 79 million people receiving two doses and 32 million having a third booster shot. — VNS
