More than 27,000 COVID cases reported on Saturday

Việt Nam registered 27,311 COVID-19 patients on Saturday, the highest number since the start of the pandemic, taking the caseload to 2,484,481.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam registered 27,311 COVID-19 patients on Saturday, the highest number since the start of the pandemic, taking the caseload to 2,484,481.

A further 78 COVID-related deaths were announced, increasing the total fatalities to 38,862. 

Among the new infections were 19,217 detected in the community in 60 localities nationwide and nine imported cases.

The capital city of Hà Nội again topped the list with 2,981 transmissions, followed by Nam Định and Hải Dương with 1,842 and 1,681, respectively.

Other infections were found in Nghệ An (1,550), Hải Phòng (1,394), Thái Nguyên (978), Ninh Bình (951), Đà Nẵng (940), Vĩnh Phúc (931), Hòa Bình (884), Phú Thọ (811), Thanh Hóa (797), Bắc Ninh (745), Quảng Ninh (659), Phú Yên (569), Quảng Bình (567), Lạng Sơn (558), Quảng Nam (553), Gia Lai (525), Bắc Giang (520), Thái Bình (498), Quảng Trị (465), Sơn La (459), Bình Định (455), Hưng Yên (448), Lào Cai (431), Tuyên Quang (394), Lâm Đồng (350), Đắk Nông (318), Hồ Chí Minh City (300), Thừa Thiên-Huế (274), Bình Phước (269), Hà Nam (208), Hà Tĩnh (197), Yên Bái (197), Khánh Hòa (193), Quảng Ngãi (161), Cao Bằng (131), Điện Biên (118), Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu (117), Hà Giang (108), Lai Châu (95), Bắc Kạn (85), Cà Mau (84), Vĩnh Long (71), Bình Dương (69), Bình Thuận (55), Bến Tre (53), Bạc Liêu (43), Tây Ninh (40), Trà Vinh (36), Kiên Giang (26), Cần Thơ (23), Hậu Giang (21), Đồng Nai (20), Long An (19), Đồng Tháp (11), An Giang (11), Ninh Thuận (10), and Tiền Giang (3).

So far there have been 192 cases of the Omicron variant nationwide, in HCM City (92), Quảng Nam (27), Quảng Ninh (20), Hà Nội (14), Khánh Hòa (11), Đà Nẵng (8 ), Hưng Yên (6), Kiên Giang (4), Thanh Hóa (2), Hải Dương (2), Hải Phòng (1), Long An (1), Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu (1), Bình Dương (1), Lâm Đồng (1) and Ninh Bình (1).

Saturday's fatalities were recorded in Hà Nội (18), Đồng Nai (7), Bến Tre (5), Bắc Ninh (4), Đà Nẵng (4), Vĩnh Long (4), HCM City (3), Cần Thơ (3), Hải Phòng (3), Quảng Nam (3), Tây Ninh (3), Bình Định (2), Đồng Tháp (2), Lâm Đồng (2), Nam Định (2), Nghệ An (2), Quảng Ngãi (2), Thái Nguyên (2), Bình Dương (1), Bình Thuận (1), Hà Giang (1), Hậu Giang (1), Lạng Sơn (1), Ninh Bình (1) and Sóc Trăng (1).

A total of 2,649 patients nationwide were in critical condition with the virus, with 294 requiring invasive ventilation and 17 on life support.

6,270 patients were given the all-clear, taking the total number of recoveries to 2,218,939. 

More than 185.2 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the country so far, with more than 74.6 million people receiving the full two doses and over 31.3 million people injected with booster shots.— VNS
