HÀ NỘI — There were 15,218 new COVID-19 infections detected on Sunday with nearly 2,000 in Hà Nội alone.
This is the eighth straight day the capital has had the highest number of new transmissions, with 1,910 recorded in total.

Of the new infections a total of 9,635 were detected in the community or outside of quarantine zones or locked down areas. The country has so far confirmed 1,651,673 infections.
Also on Sunday, 18,556 COVID-19 patients were given all-clear, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,248,240.
The health department said 7,582 people are in a serious condition with 19 on life support. There were also 207 further COVID-related deaths taking the total number of fatalities to 31,214 or 1.9 per cent of all infections.
By Sunday afternoon, 145.5 million doses of vaccines have been administered with 98.6 per cent of adults aged 18 and older receiving at least one dose and 87.3 per cent two vaccine doses.
Of children aged from 12 to 17 years old, 80.2 per cent received at least one dose and 41 per cent received two doses. — VNS
