3,639 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Việt Nam on Monday

The Ministry of Health reported 3,639 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, along with 65 more deaths.

HÀ NỘI — The Ministry of Health reported 3,639 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, along with 65 more deaths.

Of these new cases, 19 were imported and 2,620 were detected in the community.

The national tally now stands at 892,579, of which 887,797 are a result of the fourth wave of infections that have swept the country since late April.

HCM City remains the locality with the highest number of infections with 969, followed by Bình Dương Province with 517 and Đồng Nai Province with 458.

The rest of the new cases are in An Giang (232), Tây Ninh (163), Bạc Liêu (156), Tiền Giang (111), Kiên Giang (99), Sóc Trăng (87), Long An (74), Trà Vinh (60), Bình Thuận (57), Gia Lai (52), Hậu Giang (48), Khánh Hòa (44), Cà Mau (42), Phú Thọ (37), Đắk Lắk (33), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (27), Cần Thơ (26), Thừa Thiên Huế (23), Bến Tre (23), Hà Giang (22), Nam Định (21), Thanh Hóa (21), Bình Định (20), Đồng Tháp (19), Vĩnh Long (18), Nghệ An (15), Quảng Trị (15), Hà Nam (14), Đắk Nông (13), Ninh Thuận (12), Quảng Nam (12), Bình Phước (10), Quảng Bình (8 ), Quảng Ngãi (8 ), Quảng Ninh (5), Bắc Ninh (5), Kon Tum (4), Ninh Bình (3), Lâm Đồng (3), Hà Tĩnh (3), Vĩnh Phúc (3), Phú Yên (2), Lạng Sơn (2), Hải Dương (1), Đà Nẵng (1), Thái Bình (1), Bắc Giang (1), Lai Châu (1), Lào Cai (1).

Authorities in the capital city of Hà Nội announced 18 new cases.

The 65 COVID-related deaths were in HCM City (40), Bình Dương (11), Đồng Nai (7), Tây Ninh (3), Bạc Liêu (2), An Giang (1), Kiên Giang (1).

According to the Ministry of Health’s report, 3,135 patients nationwide are in serious condition, with 327 on invasive ventilators and 15 on life support (ECMO).

A further 1,323 patients were given the all-clear on Monday, taking the total number of recoveries to 807,301.

More than 1.1 million vaccine doses were administered in Việt Nam on Monday. The country has now administered more than 74 million doses of vaccine to date, with more than 21.4 million people fully vaccinated. 

In HCM City, more than 15,000 COVID-19 patients are now being treated at home. Around 4,825 are in centralised quarantine areas and 746 children are under treatment. — VNS
