NA approves new Deputy PMs, Ministers, Cabinet members

The National Assembly voted to approve the Prime Minister’s appointment of three Deputy Prime Ministers and 18 Ministers and Cabinet members this morning, during the ongoing 11th and the last session of the 13 th legislature in Hanoi. 

New Cabinet members to be voted in

Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc yesterday submitted proposals on removing 20 Deputy
Prime Ministers, ministers and Cabinet members to the 13th NA’s 11th meeting, while also
presented proposals on nominating new Deputy PMs, Ministers and other Cabinet members. NA
deputies will vote to approve the proposals today.

VN calls on China to end drilling plans

The National Assembly (NA) deputies at the 11th session yesterday passed the Press Law and retained the stipulation defining a child as one under the age of 16 in the Child Law.

VN backs nuclear non-proliferation

 Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Phạm Bình Minh reaffirmed Việt Nam’s support of comprehensive nuclear weapon disarmament and nuclear weapon non-proliferation, while emphasising the rights of countries to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. 

Trần Đại Quang voted in as State President

New President Trần Đại Quang was sworn into office in the morning of April 2 after 91.5 per cent of the total National Assembly (NA) deputies elected him to the position by secret ballot.
