Voters nationwide cast ballots as election day starts

More than 69 million voters are expected to cast their ballots on Sunday to elect deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People’s Councils of all levels for the 2021-26 tenure.

 HÀ NỘI — More than 69 million voters are expected to cast their ballots on Sunday to elect deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People’s Councils of all levels for the 2021-26 tenure.

Around 80,000 voting stations opened at 7am on Sunday across the country.

 Voters will elect 500 deputies to the 15th NA from 866 candidates.

In the context of complex development of the COVID-19 pandemic, the National Election Council, Election Committees and election units at all localities have well prepared to ensure safety and security for the election.

The election will end at 7pm the same day.  

The lists of elected deputies to the People’s Councils at all levels and the National Assembly are expected to be announced 10 days and 20 days after the election day respectively, according to the National Election Council.— VNS
