Delegates to the 13th National Party Congress paid tribute to President Hồ Chí Minh at his mausoleum in Hà Nội early Monday ahead of the congress’s preparatory session.

The Communist Party of Việt Nam (CPV)’s sound and clear-sighted leadership has driven the national revolutionary cause as well as helped the Southeast Asian country gain an increasing position on the international area, said Lao Ambassador to Việt Nam Sengphet Houngboungnuang

The draft political report submitted to the 13th National Party Congress has shown the importance and the pioneering role of foreign affairs in the cause of building and safeguarding the country. An important foundation to implement the task is to continue "building a comprehensive and modern diplomacy" with focus on three pillars of Party diplomacy, State diplomacy and people-to-people diplomacy.

Under the leadership of the Communist Party of Việt Nam (CPV), Việt Nam has become one of the most impressive, optimistic and successful countries, a Singaporean scholar has said. 

The 13th National Party Congress will mark a new milestone in the development process of Vietnam and its Party, as it will shape the country’s future and propel its international integration, said Nicolas Dervaux, Representative of the Governments of the French-Speaking Community of Belgium and the Walloon Region in Việt Nam. 

Việt Nam’s foreign policy of multilateralisation and diversification of external relations has contributed to enhancing the country’s position in the region and the world, foreign experts said. 

The 13th National Party Congress, scheduled to take place in Hà Nội from January 25 to February 2, is attracting attention both in Việt Nam and around the world, as it will mark an important milestone in setting out orientations for the country’s reforms, integration and development in the time ahead.
