HÀ NỘI — The 48th meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee opened yesterday in Hà Nội and will last until September 18.
Speaking at the meeting, NA Chairwoman Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân said she and vice-chairpersons will alternately chair the session.
The committee is scheduled to scrutinise five draft laws, comprising the law amending and supplementing some articles of the trade union law, the law on forces safeguarding security and order at the grassroots level, the revised law on drug prevention and control, the revised law on road traffic, and the law on road traffic order and safety.
The 2015 Criminal Procedure Code and a number of draft resolutions and reports will also be put up for discussion during the meeting, including the draft resolution of the National Assembly on joining the United Nations peacekeeping force and the report of the Government on the implementation of Resolution No. 76/2014 / QH13 on the goal of sustainable poverty reduction until 2020.
Reports for 2020 of the Government, the People's Supreme Court, and the Supreme People's Procuracy on crime and law violation prevention, and anti-corruption work in 2020; reports of the Government, the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuracy on the settlement of complaints and denunciations in 2020 will also be heard. The working report for 2020 and audit plan for 2021 of the State Audit will also be on the table.
Legislators will also give opinions on preparations for the 10th meeting of the NA, the inclusion of medical supplies in the national reserves, the approval of the nomination of Vietnamese ambassadors, and the establishment of Hồng Ngự City in the Mekong Delta province of Đồng Tháp. VNS
