HÀ NỘI — A delegation from the Party, State, and Việt Nam Fatherland Front on Tuesday laid wreaths at the statue of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin in Hà Nội’s Ba Đình District, on the occasion of his 150th birthday anniversary (April 22, 1870).
The delegation was headed by Politburo member, Secretary of the Communist Party of Việt Nam (CPV) Central Committee and Head of its Commission for Information and Education Võ Văn Thưởng. He was joined by Committee member and Deputy Prime Minister Trịnh Đình Dũng.
Delegates recalled the great contributions by Lenin to the world and Việt Nam's revolutionary causes, and expressed determination to continue his ideology and revolutionary path, as well as Marxism-Leninism and Hồ Chí Minh ideology so as to build a beautiful and civilised Việt Nam, contributing to the proletarian revolutionary cause.
The annual activity aims to commemorate Lenin, one of the most eminent political figures and revolutionary thinkers of the 20th century.
Lenin masterminded the Bolshevik take-over of power in Russia in 1917. He was the architect and first leader of the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. He was also a great teacher of workers worldwide. — VNS
