HÀ NỘI — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Phạm Bình Minh cut the ribbon to inaugurate an international media centre in service of the DPRK-USA Hà Nội Summit Việt Nam in Hà Nội on Saturday.
Located at the Cultural Friendship Palace at No 91 Trần Hưng Đạo Street, the centre will officially start operation on February 26.
Speaking at the event, Deputy PM Minh said work on the media centre had been completed after just over one week thanks to the close co-ordination of ministries and agencies.
He affirmed that Việt Nam was now ready for the second DPRK-USA Summit to be held in the capital city from February 27-28 as well as relevant bilateral activities.
He assured the media that with state-of-the-art equipment, the centre would allow them to work in the fastest and most effective way. It will be open round-the-clock with dining, working and functional spaces.
The Deputy PM took the occasion to stress that Việt Nam always wanted to contribute to peace and stability in the world, especially in the Korean peninsula, adding that the country was proud to meet the requirements for security and logistics to ensure the summit’s success.
A display space on Việt Nam’s culture and several stalls introducing Vietnamese enterprises will be also launched at the centre. — VNS
