HÀ NỘI — Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Lê Thị Thu Hằng, Chairwoman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (OV) Affairs, hosted a reception in Hà Nội on Monday for a delegation of Vietnamese children and teachers from the Republic of Korea (RoK).
Hằng said that this is the first time the State Committee for OV Affairs has held a trip for those from the RoK to visit cultural and historical relics in Việt Nam to explore the homeland’s history, and have exchange activities with their peers at home.
The official expressed her hope that the trip will not only offer a chance for the delegation to learn and experience national cultural values but also enable them to meet friends of their age to build good memories together in their homeland.
Hằng thanked parents, teachers, and the Vietnamese Embassy in the RoK for supporting this activity.
On behalf of the delegation, Đỗ Ngọc Luyến, a lecturer from Kwang Un University, thanked the Deputy FM and leaders of the State Committee on OV Affairs for organising the meaningful trip for OV children, teachers and parents from the RoK.
This trip has helped participants enhance their pride of the national history and people of Việt Nam, which is a stepping stone for them to engage in more meaningful programmes heading to the homeland in the future, she stated. — VNS
