The Centre for Assistance and Development of Movie Talents (TPD) will present a screening of the classic rom-com Some Like It Hot.

The screening, which is for educational purpose and fundraising for the TPD’s Young Cinema Fund, will start at 7.30pm on Friday.

Produced in 1959, Some Like It Hot starring Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis, and Jack Lemmon, is considered one of the greatest comedy movies of all time. It was included in AFI’s 100 Years… 100 Laughs, which is a list of the 100 funniest American films of all time released by the American Film Institute in 2000.

The film is about two musicians who dress in drag in order to escape from mafia gangsters whom they witnessed commit a crime inspired by the Valentine’s Day Massacre. The film was produced in black and white, even though colour films were increasing in popularity.

The film will be presented in original English language with Vietnamese subtitles. Donation (at the door): VNĐ20,000/person. — VNS
