Xuân Sơn National Park develops community tourism

Xuân Sơn National Park in Phú Thọ Province’s Tân Sơn District is developing community tourism services to attract more tourists.

PHÚ THỌ — Xuân Sơn National Park in Phú Thọ Province’s Tân Sơn District is developing community tourism services to attract more tourists.

Located about 120km away from Hà Nội, the park has a total area of more than 15,000ha and 84 per cent of them are forests. It has impressive springs, falls, mountains, caves and a daily changing climate.

There are 726 species of high-class plants and 365 species of animals in the park, which has the largest number of chamois in the country.

More than 10 households in Tân Sơn’s Xuân Sơn Commune in the core area of the park offer homestay services for tourists. The households can serve a total of 300 tourists each day.

Tourists using the homestay services can experience the life of the ethnic Mường and Dao and enjoy their special dishes made from spring fish, bamboo shoots, glutinous rice and chicken. Tourists can also participate in the daily production of locals.   

The northern province aims to have the park regconised as a national tourism site and targets 30,000 visitors next year. The park receives between 5,000 and 10,000 visitors a year.  — VNS
