HÀ NỘI — The Hà Nội People’s Committee recently issued a plan to celebrate the Áo Dài Festival at the Thăng Long-Hà Nội Preservation Centre from October 14 to 16.
The cultural event aims to preserve and promote Việt Nam’s traditional values as well as the beauty and grace of the áo dài, which has become a symbol of feminine beauty in Việt Nam.
It is also expected to introduce the cultural heritage of the country’s 1,000-year-old capital to both domestic visitors and international friends via its platform and various activities.
Simultaneously, fashion and tourism enterprises will get a chance to exchange experiences and extend their collaboration with both domestic and foreign counterparts.
Meanwhile, visitors can enjoy Hà Nội’s special cuisines and have their own áo dài tailored at the event.
Entitled Tinh Hoa Áo Dài Việt Nam (The Quintessence of Việt Nam’s Áo Dài), the festival will attract the participation of many fashion designers and artists as well as Hà Nội lovers.
Within the framework of the festival, a space will be specifically dedicated to displaying images and documents about the history of áo dài. Collections of unique áo dài of the past and present, in addition to the materials and ancient looms to tailor áo dài will also be exhibited.
The highlight of the three-day event will be decorations of lights made of conical hats, set up both inside and outside the festival venue, creating a lively and intimate atmosphere for the visitors. — VNS
