HÀ NỘI — The Việt Nam National Symphony and Orchestra (VNSO) will perform its subscription concert under the baton of French conductor David Greilsammer at the Hà Nội Opera House.

The conductor will lead the national orchestra and soloist Hoàng Hồ Khánh Vân to play Maurice Ravel's Ma Mère L'Oye suite, Max Bruch's Violin Concerto No1 and Johannes Brahms's Symphony No4

"The pieces are among the bests," said musicologist Mai Hạnh. "The conductor is talented and the soloist has a lot of young fans."

The orchestra will perform Ma Mère L'Oye to open the concert. The piece evokes childhood memories and delights listeners with the movements and the tales of Sleeping BeautyPetit PoucetLittle Ugly GirlBeauty and the Beast and the Fairy Garden.

Conductor Greilsammer is musical and artistic director of the Geneva Camerata Orchestra.

He has appeared as conductor and soloist with some of the greatest orchestras in the world, including the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony and the Verdi Orchestra of Milan.

Violin Concerto No1 - one of the most popular violin concertos of German classical music will be performed by soloist Vân.
