HÀ NỘI — In the solemn and beautiful space of Cửa Bắc Church in Hà Nội, artists performed classical music and songs on December 28 to pray for young patients who are facing difficult circumstances and are currently being treated at Hà Nội’s hospitals.

This is the second concert under the Viết tiếp ước mơ (Keep Writing Dreams), a charity concert project to raise funds to support poor patients at Hà Nội’s hospitals. The concert aimed to ask God's blessings on unfortunate children and introduce classical music genres to audiences in Hà Nội.

The concert was attended by many famous artists in the classical music industry, such as opera artists Ngô Hương Diệp, Đào Tố Loan, pianist Đào Thu Lê, pianist Nguyễn Mỹ Dung, cellist Bùi Hà Miên, violinist Khúc Văn Khoa, young pianists Lưu Danh Khôi, Khánh Linh and conductor Dustin Tiêu from HCM City.

Here, the audience enjoyed familiar melodies, such as "Hallelujah," "Ave Maria," "Alleluja", and “Chaconne in D minor” (Johann Sebastian Bach).

“Everyone's busy life makes us forget the hidden corners of life. Therefore, the "Keep Writing Dreams" concert was born, with the desire to help needy children undergoing surgery and treatment at the National Children's Hospital and the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion in Hà Nội,” said the concert founder, artist Nguyễn Mỹ Dung.

Dung added that with support from the audience, the programme is expected to donate hospital fees, each from VNĐ3 to 5 million, to 10 pediatric patients on the occasion of the new year 2024.

Lưu Danh Khôi, a young pianist studying piano in the US, returned home to attend the programme. He expressed his excitement when he first played music at Cửa Bắc Church: “I am extremely happy to be able to join the artists and contribute a small part to a meaningful programme like the Keep Writing Dreams concert.”

The “Keep Writing Dreams” concert has been cherished for many years by Nguyễn Mỹ Dung, a lecturer of Piano - Symphony Department, Hanoi College of Arts, and the artists.

The first “Keep Writing Dreams” concert, called "Spring Melody", was successfully held in Hà Nội on January 10, 2023. The contribution from the concert was used to pay treatment fees for three paediatric liver transplant patients at the National Children's Hospital. — VNS
