HCM CITY — Theatres and theme parks in HCM City are launching a series of cultural and entertainment activities during the National Day (September 2) holiday.
The Phương Nam Art Theatre is presenting a water puppet show called Cá Chép Hoá Rồng (Carps Turn into Dragons) at the History Museum in HCM City.
The show begins at 10am, 11am and 2:30pm from September 1-4.
Many activities for children are also offered at the performances, such as being a puppet artist.
According to the theatre’s representative, the artists and staff spent months on rehearsal and preparation for new puppets to introduce a new show for audiences during the holiday.
The theatre will continue their show at the museum every weekend from September 9-17 to serve children and students.
The Small Theatre on Võ Văn Tần Street in District 3 will perform three children’s plays Ve Ve Chành Chành Và Hai Cục Bướu (Ve Ve Chành Chành and Two Humps), Đại Náo Long Cung (Uproar at Underwater Palace), and Vương Quốc Những Người Xấu Xí (Kingdom of the Ugly).
All the plays convey useful lessons about friendship, bravery, humbleness and humanitarianism.
The performances will take place on September 2, 3 and 4.
In addition, a hot air balloon display will be held from 7pm-9pm at Nguyễn Huệ Pedestrian Street in District 1, along with lion dances and martial arts performances.
