BÌNH DƯƠNG — Industrial, urban and transport infrastructure developer Becamex IDC Corp on June 14 signed an agreement to offer VNĐ40 billion (US$1.74 million) for the purchase of medical equipment and materials for mass COVID-19 testing in the southern province of Bình Dương, particularly at local industrial parks.
During the fourth wave of COVID-19 outbreaks, which hit Việt Nam in late April, Bình Dương recorded infections in a number of businesses, one of which was blockaded with 600 workers put under quarantine.
According to a representative of Becamex IDC, the company has also worked to assist COVID-19 testing at the local Becamex International Hospital, Mỹ Phước General Hospital, and medical centre of Tân Uyên township.
Earlier, the corporation donated VNĐ25 billion to the national fund for COVID-19 prevention and control. — VNS
