HÀ NỘI — Customers of the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) have been complaining that they have been unable to log into their digital bank accounts, and online transactions on both the mobile app and website were proving problematic on Monday afternoon.

A Vietcombank representative told Vietnam News Agency that bank had recorded an error on its e-banking channel which might have been due to transmission overload and network congestion. The bank is working on fixing the problem.

Transaction channels at ATMs and counters were working as normal, the representative said.

Vietcombank officially launched the digital bank VCB Digibank in mid-July with many new preeminent features.

With VCB Digibank, customers have only one username which is the phone number they register with the bank and one password for access via web browser or mobile device.

Previously, customers had to remember their usernames and passwords for Internet Banking and Mobile Banking separately.

VCB Digibank also has better security with Smart OTP and Push Authentication. It provides greater convenience for customers in money transfers, online savings, payment of bills and public services, QR Pay, hotel and airline ticket bookings and online shopping. — VNS
