BÌNH ĐỊNH -- A Bamboo Airways flight carrying 144 Korean passengers arrived at Phú Cát airport in the central province of Bình Định on Saturday, marking the beginning of the airport’s international service.
Bamboo Airways will operate eight direct flights to and from South Korean's Cheongju international airport this month.
Hồ Quốc Dũng, chairman of the Bình Định People’s Committee, described the route as a good opportunity for his province to connect with the world, attracting more international holiday-makers and investors to the locality.
Covering nearly 3,000sq.m, the T2 terminal of Phú Cát airport is capable of receiving 600,000 international passengers a year.
Deputy General Director of Bamboo Airways Trương Phương Thành said with its strategy to increase domestic and international flights from and to Bình Định through Phú Cát airport, the airline hoped to contribute to developing the transport network in the locality and in the central region as well.
It would also strive to offer quality air services to all customers, he added.
The direct route between Phú Cát and Cheongju airports is the fourth between Việt Nam and South Korea provided by Bamboo Airways, with flights to and from Hà Nội, Đà Nẵng and Cam Ranh to Incheon.- VNS
