73 enterprises to get National Quality Awards 2017

HÀ NỘI — A ceremony to honour the 2017 winners of the annual National Quality Awards and Global Performance Excellence Award (GPEA) will be held on April 22.

This was announced at a press conference introducing the awards on Tuesday.

Seventy-three enterprises will receive the 2017 National Quality Awards, of which 15 enterprises will win the gold prize and 58 will win the silver prize.

At the press conference, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Trần Văn Tùng said the National Quality Awards was the only one of its kind approved by the Prime Minister and included in the GPEA system by the Asia-Pacific Quality Organisation.

It is an annual award to honour businesses with outstanding performance in boosting the quality and competitiveness of their products and services amidst regional and global integration, he said, adding that to optimise the award’s impact, firms were being encouraged to consider the award a performance assessment tool.

As of 2017, 1,842 enterprises have won the National Quality Awards and 44 others have obtained GPEA. — VNS
