$5.7m garment factory opens in Nghệ An

The Việt Nam Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex) inaugurated its new garment factory, worth nearly VNĐ127 billion (US$5.7 million), in the central province of Nghệ An late last week.

NGHỆ AN — The Việt Nam Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex) inaugurated its new garment factory, worth nearly VNĐ127 billion (US$5.7 million), in the central province of Nghệ An late last week.

 

Spanning in 32,000sq.m, the Vinatex Hoàng Mai factory will produce 11 million tonnes of products in its first phrase—mainly producing exports bound for Japan—and provide about 900 local jobs.

 

Vinatex said it expected export turnover to grow by 10 per cent this year to US$2.6 billion.

 

To meet this target, the group will focus on supporting its subsidiaries in trade promotion to enlarge export markets, the group’s general director Lê Tiến Trường said.

The group reported an export value of $2.37 billion and a pre-tax profit of VNĐ628 billion last year.— VNS
