HÀ NỘI — Hòa Phát Group has officially put a new steel pipe manufacturing plant with a capacity of 410,000 tonnes per year into operation in Tây Ninh Province, expanding its production capacity and strengthening supply for both domestic and export markets.

The facility is operated by Hòa Phát Long An Steel Products JSC and began full operations in January 2026 after the completion and synchronisation of all production equipment.

Located at a strategic gateway connecting HCM City with provinces in the Mekong Delta region, the project has a total investment of VNĐ2.6 trillion (US$100 million) and covers an area of 15ha. The plant was developed in two phases, with the first phase completed in December 2025 before the facility became fully operational a month later.

According to Nguyễn Văn Tuấn, director of Hòa Phát Long An Steel Products JSC, the new plant will help the company better meet growing demand in southern Việt Nam while expanding export opportunities.

The plant manufactures a range of products used in construction, industrial applications and infrastructure projects, including black steel pipes, galvanised steel pipes, hot-dip galvanised pipes and galvanized steel coils, as well as large-diameter steel pipes.

Products from the facility comply with international standards such as ASTM International, British Standards Institution’s BS EN standards and Japanese Standards Association’s JIS standards.

Steel pipes produced by the company have been supplied to several major infrastructure projects, including Long Thành International Airport, Tân Sơn Nhất Airport Terminal 3 and the expansion of Phú Quốc International Airport.

The company has also installed a 10 MW rooftop solar power system at the plant, expected to supply more than half of its electricity demand as part of efforts to support greener industrial production.

With the new facility, Hòa Phát’s total steel pipe production capacity has reached 1.2 million tonnes per year. The group currently holds the largest share of Việt Nam’s steel pipe market at 31.2 per cent and aims to further expand its presence in international markets. — VNS
