At this year's event, Sacombank is showcasing its technology achievements along with modern and convenient digital banking products and services, enabling visitors to experience various digital financial services, such as opening a payment account within five seconds using eKYC technology on the Sacombank Pay app.

Its exhibition stall also features the Tap to Phone - NFC technology duo for contactless payments via mobile phones, and a comprehensive banking ecosystem with essential products for businesses (account services, payroll services, corporate cards, e-banking, etc.).

Pursuing digital transformation since its early days and recognising the pivotal role of banking in driving the digital transformation of other sectors, Sacombank has focused on implementing technology to drive comprehensive digitalisation, contributing to the national strategy for digital economic and social development.

Sacombank’s digital transformation focuses on five key areas:

• enhancing digital infrastructure. Sacombank expanded its new Data Centre in June 2023, equipping it with 60 racks and meeting Uptime Tier III standards. The bank also established an information technology service management system and integrated the DevSecOps methodology into its software development process.

• boosting process digitalisation and automation. The bank has applied AI to its customer care system, digitised and automated business processes on the ePortal system, and developing automated document processing models like the Retail Loan Origination System (RLOS), which shortens appraisal times and accelerates loan approvals for customers.

The third area is building digital data. Sacombank has implemented biometric authentication and digital signatures in online transactions to enhance convenience and security for customers.

The fourth area is diversifying digital financial solutions. The bank completed its omnichannel banking project, optimising customer interaction channels for a seamless experience. Sacombank has also diversified product usage methods, allowing customers to obtain payment and credit cards, open payment accounts and apply for consumer loans directly on the Sacombank Pay app.

It has introduced QR payments, contactless payments and smart teller machines (STM) and plans to set up fully automated digital transaction points that operate 24/7.

The fifth area is encouraging digital financial experiences. Sacombank has actively launched promotions such as “Win a Vinfast car when making a savings deposit on Sacombank Pay,” offering cashback for customers choosing automatic bill payment services, etc. to encourage customers to experience and use digital services long-term.

Trần Thái Bình, head of Sacombank's digital banking division, said: “We understand that digital transformation is not just a task but an opportunity to bring new digital experiences, enhancing customer service.

“The National Digital Transformation Day event is a chance for us to reaffirm our commitment to Together We Grow, creating added value for customers and driving the country's development.”

Sacombank has a customer base of around 19 million individual and corporate customers, of whom 67 per cent are digital customers.

The number of transactions on Sacombank's digital channel grew nearly six-fold between 2018 and 2023 to 508 million.

The bank has won several prestigious awards for its digital transformation achievements such as for “Most Innovative Digital Bank Vietnam 2024” and "Most Innovative Retail Bank Vietnam 2024” from the International Business Magazine, "Outstanding Digital Bank" from the International Data Group, the Vietnam Bank Association and other government agencies, "Product of the Year - Top 100 Innovative and Effective Products and Services 2024" from Vietnam Investment Review and Viet Research, and the Sao Khuê 2024 award for its Multi-Modal Payment Solution for Enterprises.
