HÀ NỘI — An Phát Holdings Group plans to build an environmentally-friendly packaging factory named An Phát USA in the United States.
The information was released during a visit by the US Embassy delegation to the group’s subsidiary – An Phát Plastic & Green Environment JSC in Việt Nam – on Thursday.
The factory is expected to become operational in the first quarter of 2020 and provide products to the North American market the same year.
The plant will produce fully biodegradable plastic bags, polyethylene (PE) bag and other environmentally-friendly plastic products. The group will invest in high tech and automatic production lines with around 300 modern machine sets.
The establishment of the plant is under the group’s expansion strategy to foreign markets while ensuring its determination to become a leading hi-tech and environmentally-friendly plastics group in the Southeast Asian region.
Currently, its thin film packaging is sold in more than 100 countries and territories worldwide, including demanding markets such as Japan, the US and EU.
The AnEco fully biodegradable plastic bag has been highly valued by foreign customers. The factory in the US is an important step for An Phát Holdings Group to provide high-tech and environmentally-friendly products to the US market.
Eric Hsu, Commercial Counselor at the US Embassy to Việt Nam, said the group’s expansion would enhance trade exchange and contribute to the socio-economic development of the two countries.
An Phát Holdings has 11 member companies operating in six areas of bio-plastic, plastic packaging, engineering plastic, household plastic, petrochemicals and fiber. It targets to reach revenue of US$1 billion by 2025.
