Trang wins gold, Minh takes bronze from JE Wilson International

HÀ NỘI — Vũ Thị Trang of Việt Nam won the JE Wilson International Series badminton tournament which ended in Accra, Ghana on Sunday.

Trang,who was No 1 seed, defeated No 2 Mugdha Agrey of India 21-10, 21-6 in the women’s singles final.

Her teammate and husband Nguyễn Tiến Minh took home a bronze from the men’s singles. Despite being the top seed, Minh lost 16-21, 21-10, 18-21 to unseeded George Kiran of India in the semi-finals.

Kiran went on to beat No 2 Ade Resky Dwicahyo of Azerbaijan to take the title. — VNS
