The World Heritage site of Hội An in the central province of Quảng Nam has recently been ranked seventh among the world’s 15 best cities, voted by readers of the US travel site www.travelandleisure.com.
For its annual World’s Best Awards survey, the website called on its readers to share their opinions on the world’s top cities based on their travel experiences.
Known as the busiest and most bustling trading port in Southeast Asia from the 15th to 19th century, Hội An is home to beautiful pagodas, age-old communal houses, and ancient wells.
What makes the central coastal town appealing to tourists, especially international visitors, may be the unique traditional lantern festival held on the 14th day of each lunar month. — VNS
