CÀ MAU — A bird garden located in the Hồ Chí Minh President monument area in Cà Mau City in Cà Mau Province is a great place to view many kinds of birds.

The 3.1ha garden has about 53 species and 6,600 birds. The number of wild birds at the garden can reach more than 10,000 in the peak reproductive season. Most of the birds are little egret, Chinese pond heron, great egret, little cormorant, black-crowned night heron, darter and grey heron.

The garden, set up 20 years ago, attracts about 30,000 visitors a year.

The southernmost province is planting more trees to provide a better habitat for birds and is setting up bird-watching towers for visitors. — VNS
