Japan received a record number of 183,000 visitors from Việt Nam last year, nearly double the previous year’s figure.

ĐÀ NẴNG – Japan received a record number of 183,000 visitors from Việt Nam last year, nearly double the previous year’s figure.

In the first five months of this year 106,000 Vietnamese visited Japan, according to figures released at a seminar to introduce the country by the Japan Travel Agency (JTA) held in the central city of Đà Nẵng on July 28.

Nhan Phượng, JTA’s representative in Việt Nam, said Japan is one of the most attractive destinations for Vietnamese travellers while Việt Nam is considered a potential market by the Japanese tourism industry.

The easing of visa conditions for Vietnamese, the increase in the frequency of flights to Japan from Hà Nội, Đà Nẵng and HCM City and the depreciation of the yen are behind the increase for Vietnamese to travel increasingly to Japan, he said. — VNS
