Việt Nam had about 99,000 newly-established enterprises in the first nine months of this year, a year-on-year fall of 3.2 per cent, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO).
Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyễn Chí Dũng asked localities to clarify their objectives and the priority of public investment projects for 2021-25, to ensure focused investment.
In April alone, the IIP slumped sharply by 13.3 per cent over the previous month and by 10.5 per cent over the same period last year. It is also the first IIP decrease in April during the 2016-20 period, the GSO said.
The index of industrial production (IIP) in the first two months of this year increased by 6.2 per cent over the same period last year.
