HÀ NỘI — The organising board of the National Cup tournament has set the date of the semi-final round between Becamex Bình Dương and Hà Nội Club for September 23.
After considering the transportation needs of the clubs and the professionalism of the last matches of the season and the rights of sponsors, and receiving the agreement and support of two teams, the board has agreed on the new date.
Trần Anh Tú, head of the tournament managing board, signed the notice to confirm the time of the semi-final will be 5pm on September 23 at Gò Đậu Stadium,
In light of this change, the match between Hà Nội Club and Becamex Bình Dương Club in the 24th round of the National Champ Nuti Café 2018 will be moved to 7pm of September 27 at Hàng Đẫy Stadium, instead of September 23 as previously planned.
According to the organising board, the adjustment does not affect the competition plan for National Champion Nuti Café 2018, which only has five rounds left. Specifically, round 22 is held on September 14, 15 and 16; round 23 will be held on September 18 and 19; round 24 will be held on September 29, the same day as the semi-final; round 25 will be held on September 30 and round 26 will be held on October 6.
Second, the organising board cannot lengthen the tournament when the plan is to gather the national team from October 10. Therefore, the competition schedule of the final round of the White Lion National Football Cup has been fixed for October 10 and 14.
“The first plan given is September 27. However, it will be a disadvantage to Bình Dương as they have to move many times. They will visit Hàng Đẫy Stadium in round 24 of V-League 2018 on September 23, return to a home turf meeting against the Hà Nội Club in the semi-final of the National Champs on September 27, and continue to be the visiting team at Thiên Trường field, meeting Nam Định Club,” added Tú.
However, Bình Dương insists on playing on September 23 and Hà Nội Club agreed to their decision, so the organising board has accepted both team’s wishes. — VNS
